Week Ending April 24th – No News is Good News
Choppy trading week, not a ton of news to drive markets, with the notable exception of Intel earnings that drove a semiconductor rally on Friday. Conversely, potentially weaker future earnings growth reported by ServiceNow exacerbated the downward momentum of software stocks on Thursday’s trading. The bifurcation within the tech sector may continue giving recent earning reports.
Looking ahead to this coming week, several news events could influence market returns. This week Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Amazon will report Q1 earnings. The results from the FOMC Meeting is also set to report on Wednesday, currently the market is not expecting a change in the Federal Funds Rate. Also, we’ll see the First Preliminary reading for Q1 2026 Real GDP, Consumer Confidence and ISM PMIs.
